Tears of the Black Tiger by Wisit Sasanatieng (2000) *Thailand

Found that this retro Western film with a unique thai style, infused with melodramatic elements and hyperbolic exaggeration of Westerns. It feels very much like a parody to me.

Here's an example of a Western produced by Hollywood, The Magnificent Seven, which is a Western take on the masterpiece by Akira Kurosawa, Seven Samurai.

The themes of good & evil, gunslinger action and the final gunfight showdown are important elements for these Westerns.

Tears of the black tiger consists such defining elements too, yet its exaggeration is comedic and funny.

A more revisionist form of Westerns will be Unforgiven which revises the idea of good and bad being clearly defined and heroes being inherently morally upright.
